The Father

The Father

IN GOD, THE FATHER almighty

Our culture tends to believe the most important thing about us is what we believe about ourselves.  We, however, believe the most important thing is what we believe about God.  And this is why we begin with God the Father.  If you believe God is distant and capricious, subject to mood swings and irrational behavior, then He cannot be trusted.  If, however, He's a good Father, then that radically alters our approach and sheds light on all of His ways.

We believe in God the Father, the Almighty, the creator of the heavens and the earth and all things visible and invisible.  We believe God made all things good and beautiful, but that man rebelled against God, corrupting  and damaging all parts of God's good creation.  Yet God so loved the world, He gave his only:

The Son

The Son

In one Lord, Jesus Christ

There are many beliefs about Jesus - he's a prophet, a wise man, a political and social radical - but we believe and confess that Jesus of Nazareth is the unique Son of God.  He dwelled for all eternity with his Father, but entered time and space and became a man in every way that we are, yet without sin.  After 3 years of a public ministry, Jesus suffered for us under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and was buried.  On the third day, Jesus of Nazareth's body rose from the dead.  He appeared to more than 500 people over the next 40 days and then ascended into heaven, where he sits on his throne with all authority under heaven and earth.  A day will come when he will judge the world in righteousness, but until that time he has sent:

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy spirit

Prior to His ascension to heaven, Jesus told his disciples to wait in Jerusalem for the Holy Spirit.  For when He comes, they will receive power to be Jesus' witness throughout the whole earth.  We believe the Holy Spirit is not a mystical force, power, or energy, but a person who, along with the Father and the Son, we worship and glorify.  The only way to live a life honoring to the One True God, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, is to believe the Good News of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ to the glory of God the Father through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Everything that we believe and do flows from faith and commitment to one True, Triune God.
